UTO is a Japan knitwear company with its atelier in Kitakami, Iwate prefecture. UTO’s cashmere is sourced primarily from China and Inner Mongolia and grade 1 (14 microns) fibre is used. The yarn is spun by Toyoboshi Kogyo., Ltd., a leader in the field which has been producing cashmere yarn since 1930. UTO’s artisans specialise in cashmere. The finely knit cashmere remains soft after numerous cleaning. The side seams and edges are joined together by hand to ensure comfortability and resilience. The cashmere is dried naturally to ensure the unique soft and smooth feel of the garment. UTO’s cashmere knitwear is made-to-order, a strong alignment of our bespoke service.
