The Barathea dinner jacket is the common choice for black tie events. Some may find the uniform attire style lacking personality. Our client picks a purplish velvet for his dinner jacket. The we cut a bolder shawl lapel to reflect his character. We prefer cutting velvet in a reverse direction with nap pointing upwards. So the colour would reflect more regularly when light strikes on the jacket. Velvet needs extra care to work with. We can only iron on the back of the fabric. After steaming the velvet, we brush the face to make the nap standing up. The steam stain can only be ironed lightly too. The finished garment is soft while the weight helps it draping well.
