Nowadays a dinner jacket seems so formal that we do not have many occasions to wear one. Indeed, the first dinner jacket is a less formal alternative to dress coat. Dress code evolves over time and the traditionally semi-formal attire become the most dressed up ensemble for gentlemen. While different colours are used in contemporary dinner jackets, the classic black barathea remains the preferred choice for most of us. Barathea is a closely woven fabric with a slight diagonal weave and broken rib effect. The surface is granular but smooth. It is heavy weighted comparing to business suitings so the jacket has a structured boy.
