Three-roll-two has been gaining popularity in Hong Kong bespoke tailoring and this style is now typical of Neapolitan tailoring. Brooks Brothers explained that students pressed back the lapels of their old three-button jackets to transform them to the more trendy two-button look at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a possible explanation as you can press a three-button jacket into a two-button one but not vice versa. One of our clients who used to wear more formal colours wanted a more “playful” suit. He picked a charcoal suiting with light brown glen checks. Unlike Neapolitan tailoring, the wearer sticks with the conventional shoulder pads to give a masculine look. The Milanese Buttonhole and the horn buttons with more black spots add subtle decorative features.
